E’ quanto emerge da una recente metanalisi pubblicata sul BMJ. Secondo gli autori dello studio è possibile migliorare la salute pubblica attraverso somministrazione giornaliera di vitamina D.
Le indicazioni derivano da numerose evidenze scientifiche che hanno dimostrato un ruolo attivo della vitamina D sulla modulazione del sistema immunitario.
Tuttavia, nonostante alcuni limiti intrinseci della metanalisi, lo studio suggerisce il possibile impiego della supplementazione di vitaminica D3 nelle infezioni a carico dell’apparato respiratorio”.
I risultati non sono ancora conclusivi ma tracciano possibili scenari soprattutto nella prevenzione delle patologie alle vie respiratorie.
